Alzheimer’s Association of Greater Dallas – a resource that deals with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia. It’s an organization that has accelerated its global research, driving risk reduction and early detection, and maximizing quality care and support.

 

The caregiving page are for those who provide daily caregiving, participate in decision making, or simply care about a person with the disease. Educational and practical support are offered by this association.  

 

American Association of Retired Persons (AARP) Caregiving Page – resources for caregivers such as dealing with emotions for caregiving, mental health, cost, safety and living options.  

 

Jewish Family Service of Greater Dallas – non-profit food pantry and emergency assistance providing food including clean meats. They also provide free transportation to local doctor visits and essential trips for seniors who have enrolled as a client. To qualify, look-up the zip codes where you live.  

 

Pajamas for Seniors – a non-profit group serving DFW with a mission to return that love and kindness to the seniors one pajama at a time   US Department of Health and Human Services – the federal government page explains the differences between coverage for Medicare and Medicaid  

 

Visiting Nurse Association of Texas (VNA) – a nonprofit organization that helps our elderly loved ones at home or at a senior living community. VNA provides hospice care, Meals on Wheels, private care and other aging resources
