The Priority of the Spirit

Dear Church Family,

Ever since the beginning of the year we have been focusing on the presence, power, and the purpose of the Holy Spirit. God has been good to us! This weekend I would like to point out something very special about the third person of the Godhead concerning His work in our lives. While the Spirit has many jobs to do on our behalf, I believe there is one primary goal that He wants to accomplish concerning our salvation and our walking in Christ. It is something that many Christians probably have never understood or simply overlooked. We are going to focus on this portion of the Holy Spirit’s work this week.

Taking our Lord Jesus Christ as our example and our guide, we are going to explore one of the most necessary purposes of the Spirit. Jesus made it clear that He was to follow a specific and certain plan, sanctioned by the Father and the Spirit, in order to leave a pattern for us to follow in our walk with God. It is the intention of every Christian to become more and more like Jesus. Yet, life is difficult and seeking to live for God doesn’t necessarily make it any easier on us. Sometimes we as Christians feel overwhelmed by the expectations of God and even of the church. Trying to be like Jesus can be challenging. Many have fallen under the weight of trying to be perfect and meeting the targeted attacks that come from the enemy. However, I want you to know that there is a key to living out the Christian life with confidence and with POWER. And this key is provided by the Holy Spirit and the Holy Spirit alone.

Come join us with weekend in worship and let’s see what the Spirit has to say to the church.
